Hello to all. I am new here and also in the design of skins for the MSN. I have immense interest in creating one, but I would like to know, what are the sizes of designs to create in Photoshop.

Hey welcome to the forum.

Well there is no real size that you need to create a design in. Pretty much all I do when I design a skin is take a screenshot of the msn windows and work from there.

When you design a skin you should think of each of your background images as something divided into 9 parts (sort of like slices in photoshop).

1 | 2 | 3
4 | 5 | 6
7 | 8 | 9

With skins you can tell the top parts (1, 3, 7, 9) to remain the same size no matter what and then have the rest stretch to fill in the rest of the window.

So your design could be at any size really. You just have to keep in mind that your background images has to work well with the 9 grid method. Any other images don't have to follow this method (icons, logos etc)
