Hey All,
I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this:
Running the New Niveus, just announced on FB, when starting or picking up a new chat conversation the Input box for text is filling the chat window completely.
(See attachement for screenshot)
I am also currently running Messenger Discovery as well (though may trash it soon till the beta is finished).
Can anyone think of why this is?
Additionally, the color picker for chat windows doesn't appear to be working for me either
Thanks,
Russ

Yeah it is a Messenger Discovery issue. Matt has fixed it in the latest build of Messenger Discovery so I would recommend downloading it.

Looking into the issue, can't seem to replicate it. Would you be able to post up what settings you have applied?
I'm pointing this out to Matt, the creator of Messenger Discovery in case this is something where my skin clashes with his stuff.
It's nice to see that i'm not the only one with this problem.
Without knowing about this thread, I sent to Willz an e-mail a while ago with 2 screenshots of the same thing...
I don't have this discovery thing installed though.
I have a newly formatted pc running xp sp3 and the latest msgplus.
The same thing happens @ my laptop though running windows vista sp1...
Don't know what to do. The skin is great but i can't drag the thing down every time...
This seemed to go away on my work computer, and i've only noticed it once under my Windows 7 Machine at home...
Seems like a restart probably sorts it (how IT crowd)...
I'll keep everyone posted moving forwards, but if i don't notice anything i'll leave it there (also noticed in your main page update Matt was looking into this)
Cheers folks
Im all so experiencing the same problem... and i never had discovery addon, Im running win Xp SP3..., hopefully some1 will find whats cosing this problem.

Hey all,
I've just installed Fuse and without changing any settings (just using some of the normal stuff in MSGplus LIVE (display on desktop) i haven't changed or configured anything and this is still happening, so i'm now guessing this a general incompatibility. I haven't installed Messenger Discovery on this machine yet, and it has re-appeared on my work computer...
What a shame, i thought the restart sorted it somehow...
I'm going to continue using these skins though, as i love them, especially Fuse... and will keep my eyes open for anything random...
Could we speak to MSGplus LIVE fella and see if we can't get some debugger (grabs all current settings to an output file...) this may help us down the line

I have been looking into the issue and can't seem to isolate it. But one of the fixes that has helped some people is to switch back to the default Messenger skin, resize the chat area to the very top, then apply the skin.
I think the bug as something to so with the custom code that's there where some people are having their chat areas sized below the new limit that the skin sets before they apply the skin. I just haven't had enough people trying this to confirm this is the cause.
I'll try it now, Give me ten minutes
ok,
that words fine matey
STR:
1. Apply default skin > Open chat > drag text box to top
2. Apply WLM skin > Open chat > Drag text box to desired size
3. Open a few chats > Observe text box correct size? - Yes = PASS
4. Quit WLM > Start again > Repeat 3 - All ok - Yes = PASS
So in this case then, is there a way of defaulting the text box size to max when applying a WLM skin, then resetting it to the previous value once applied? (i'd still like a debugger)

Yeah there isn't because all that stuff is controlled by Messenger itself and we don't have access to those values to be able to reset them. I'll play around a bit and see if I can do something (I really doubt I can). But otherwise this workaround will have to do.
And yeah there's no such thing as a skin debugger

Its all trial and error. Messy I know, but that's how Messenger skins are, Messenger was never intended to be skinned.
Just a handy little tid-bit here, but you don't have to worry about switching skins....
If you adjust the size of the text box and close ALL chat windows, then the setting stays, if you leave it to small then all new chat windows will be expanded by default...
Saves a bit of time
