See me personally I would only get a laptop if I knew I was going to be carrying it around to like school or places to work on it but if its something for you to use at home then it sorta defeats the purpose and I would just go a desktop instead just because you get more power and storage for the same price.
Meh regardless that laptop is awesome and I wouldn't mind having it

its going to serve as a desktop replacement that can be lugged around from my bedroom to the lounge
plus if I take it to school I can take the brick that goes with it lmao but yes not really a practical laptop but none the less still powerful lol
vaccination thats interesting, very interesting infact almost drueling over that lol but thats gonna be roughly 5-6grand AUD and honestly as much as I would love to see a quad core processor and dual 8800s in a laptop that is abit higher than my price range
Well I've settled on a 160GB SATA HDD, which I've found to be only $2 more than the 80GB (!!!), so it's starting to look more like reality. In the meantime, I get to clean up my Athlon, preparing it for an undecided OS. Ubuntu? MCE? Who knows...
wow almost forgot about this thread guess il update you guys haha
the xps was abit out of my in the end price range i instead jumped on a great offer at a local electronics store that australians would know (dick smith) I managed to get a hp dv5t for 1700$ AUSD that came with a free external hard drive and a free 500$ portable gps navigation system for incar. the retail price of the laptop is 2000$ AUSD so I got jumped on this offer
specs:
core2duo @ 2.53ghz
4gb ddr2 @ 800mhz
320gb hard drive @ 5400RPM
9600M GT @ 512mb gddr2
and it came with vista home premium 32bit which I replaced a week later with vista 64bit ultimate.
had it just over a week and loving it
Laptop Specs(detailed)
Pics of the hp!!
Time for a small update on my PC (yes I'm still working on it)
I've finally got 4/5 of the machine:
- ASUS P5GC-MX/1333
- Kingston 1GB DDR2 667 ValueRAM
- ASUS EN8400GS Silent 256MB
- Seagate ST3160813AS 160GB SATA
and the CPU which has had to be updated on the list a couple of times:
- Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66GHz 1066Mhz FSB
(I may not get the E7300 as Core 2 Duos are getting scarce at the store I got all my parts from, so I could end up getting a Quad Core

)
