Well word has been going around for quite some time now over Microsoft investing in Yahoo! and today we all got to see that this was indeed not just rumors. Today Microsoft put forward the offer to the Yahoo! board of directors: $31 per share (a 62% premium over yesterday's closing price) or about $44.6 Billion all up.
Yeah I'm a bit late with the news here but I guess reading it once more will help it sink in for all you guys and gals going "OMG NO WAI!". So will Yahoo! take the offer? Only time will tell really, and if they do it could mean a drastic change to the internet services we are used to. One of the things I enjoy doing is reading the blog of my good friend from university Long Zheng who follows closely on anything Microsoft related.
And of course as you would expect he would post something on this matter. In his latest post he points out that there are a lot of overlaps in the services that Microsoft and Yahoo! provide so it could mean some good or bad things. Anyway its best you go take a look at his post since my words probably can't sum up what he has to say (except maybe "Whatever they do, they better not ruin Flickr.").
